RECENT EVENTS

S.T.A.R.S. students were given an opportunity to travel to Indiana University Purdue University-Indianapolis (IUPUI) for a college tour. For many of the students, this was their first time ever being a college campus. The students were amazed at all of the different degrees of study and opportunities available to them through the college.
During their visit, the students were given a walking tour of the campus and a chance to ask questions about particular majors and degrees of study. After the tour Campus and Community Life discussed the different campus and student organizations available at the university. An enrollment specialist was available to discuss financial aid and scholarship opportunities as well as how the Ivy Tech State College program could work in combination with obtaining a degree through IUPUI. Many were able to identify majors that would line-up with the trades they are currently taking. Each student was given a gift bag and information to take home about the college. The students had a wonderful time and will surely never forget the experience!
